Objective

The National Digital Development Reports for 2021 aim to assist Member States in developing national plans and strategies related to digital development; It seeks to crystallize evidence-based regional visions and strategies in this vital field to guide them in order to benefit from progress in the digital development path to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals in the Arab region within the framework of a “decade of action” for the world that began in 2021, in order to integrate with other tracks.

The preparation of these reports for the year 2021 coincides with work on crystallizing the Arab digital agenda (under the common umbrella of the League of Arab States and ESCWA; with the participation of Arab countries and a number of regional and international organizations working in the field), and on crystallizing a number of national digital agendas for countries that have begun cooperation with ESCWA in this regard. track, which draws on data from the national reviews and the regional report as a baseline for subsequent monitoring of implementation progress.
